What to have people throw at your wedding

Blurb by Jessica Rugg

There has been much debate on what you can throw when the bride and groom run from the church (or wherever you have your wedding) to their car.
You can throw anything small, that can be eaten, or is biodegradable.
Some common options:
- Rice
- Birdseed
- Popcorn
- Bread crumbs
- Rose petals or other flower petals
- Have people blow bubbles
- Confetti
- Ribbons
- Flower seeds
- Glitter
- Release birds or butterflies
- Have people ring bells
- Have people hold or wave sparklers (especially beautiful at night)

  1. I heard that some of these items aren't allowed at churches because if the birds eat them (like rice) it expands in their stomach and hurts them.
They also don't like the mess, but thats not usually a problem because the birds eat everything.

    1. Some venues do not allow rice for the reason you listed above, but most people now believe that it is safe to throw rice.
You bring up a good point though. If you throw, rice (in most cases), confetti, ribbons, or glitter you need to clean them up because they are not biodegradible.
