For most couples, purchasing the ring is the first step in preparation for the proposal. The question is, though, what kind of ring?! Some couples may choose that they want the engagement ring to be a surprise. For some, this might add more to the element of how special the ring is. Other couples may choose to pick out the rings together. For some guys they would rather the girl pick out what she wants so they know that she will be happy. It, after all, is something she will hopefully be wearing for the rest of her life! Either way you choose to go about it, there are many factors to be considered when buying wedding rings!
First thought might be color. Some women may have a preference to either yellow or white gold or platinum for their band. Quite often the male band will match this color so his preference, if he has one, might be something to take into consideration when choosing the band color for the woman. Next, the cut or style of the diamond on the engagement ring is very important! Some women have dreamed about a certain style of diamond on their engagement ring their whole life and you do not want to mess that up guys. Other women are pleased with anything that is beautiful or comes from the heart of their groom. Some popular diamond cuts are cushion cut, emerald cut, marquise cut, princess cut, asscher cut, round cut, heart cut, and pear cut. Now, the band around this ring does not have to be simple. For some women, they may prefer to have a band that is covered in diamonds or just has a few diamonds surrounding the stone on either side. This leads into the endless opportunities for the style of wedding band for both men and women, too! Some prefer a plain, simple band. Some prefer a double band. Some prefer a band that is covered in diamonds. Some couples may even want to go that extra step and get something special engraved into their bands. These are all some things to consider when purchasing the rings!

Really good tips! One of my friends got an engagement ring that has a part that juts out that locks into the wedding ring. I thought that was a clever and cool idea.
ReplyDeleteGood tips since this is a big financial investment and hopefully something the couple will wear for the rest of their lives. Thanks
